I'm not a big believer in Valentine's Day. No, I'm not a love cynic. Maybe it's because I've never been with anyone on this day. But, personally, I think it's just a way for companies to capitalize a holiday. I mean, good for the companies. You do you. However, the holiday becomes less about love and more about spending money.
I am all about Galentine's Day, though. I am all about celebrating the women in your life, whether that be cousins, friends, sisters, or mothers.
I spent the day with my mother. We went to the bookstore - bought three books each, drank tea, and stayed inside during the rainy day. We drank wine flights and ate yummy food at a wine lounge (and bought a bottle from Germany!). When we came home with our stomachs happy, we watched The Proposal and ate a little bit of cheesecake which we bought earlier from The Cheesecake Factory.
Treat yo'self.
(Also - did you know that Valentine of Valentine's Day was anti-Semitic? Another reason to boycott this holiday).
